MASTERPIECES OF ART
It was the cradle of the Renaissance and the world capital of art in the fifteenth century. It boasts one of the most famous historic centers and some of the most famous museums in the world. All around it is one of the most iconic and characteristic landscapes on the planet. In Florence everything is spectacular: from the shops to the streets that lead to the hills immediately behind the most touristic areas, from the most genuine and popular neighborhoods, which arise just outside the historic center, to the monuments that tell its soul.
WHAT TO SEE
Florence, with its museums, palaces and churches, is home to some of the most important artistic treasures in the world. Among the city's most famous places of art and worship are undoubtedly the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, the Uffizi Gallery, the Bargello and the Galleria dell'Accademia. The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are true art galleries, just as the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana is an exceptional expression of Michelangelo's architectural genius. We recommend that you set aside some time to visit the important and varied collections housed in Palazzo Pitti. In Florence, it is also nice to just walk through the beautiful streets of the historic center. Walk until you reach the Arno, stop on the romantic Ponte Vecchio and continue to Oltrarno, the "newest" part of Florence.
UFFIZZI GALLERY
The Uffizi Gallery in Florence is one of the most important and famous museums in the world, hosting an extraordinary collection of Renaissance art. Among the most famous works are masterpieces by artists such as Botticelli, with his "Birth of Venus", Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. The museum is located in an elegant 16th-century palace, designed by Giorgio Vasari, and also offers a splendid view of the Arno River. Every visit to the Uffizi is a journey through the history of Italian art.
